11+ Tutors in Wilmington – Tips for parents.
Wilmington is a fantstic school with great facilities. With more than 45 acres of land the schools have access to more than 11 football fields! The Wilmgington Grammar School has a good Design and Engineering focus. If you are interested in your child pursuing this route as a career path for your child then this a visit to this school on the Open Days is a must. The children are very well mannered and they will take you on a guided tour around the school every year on an Open Day. There is a also a ‘Wilmington Academy’ situated very close to the Grammar schools but this should not be confused with the Grammar school nearby.
The school has excellent facilities if your kids are interested in Computer Science. There is even a Raspberry Pi club for the geeks!

Excellent Location
The Grammar schools are located in a very quite and peaceful area. The schools themselves though are quite a distance from the Dartford Town Centre. However the school makes up for it by having very good buses that ply from several locations. If you are looking to move to this area for the sake of your children’s education we advise you to check out the nearby Joydens Wood area which is well known for its picturesque gardens. Our Tutorial centre is located at Joydens Wood within walking distance from the Grammar School.
Wilmington Academy
There is also an Academy close to the Grammar Schools. Please do not confuse this with the Grammar school. The Grammar school requires a child to pass the 11+ exam held by the Kent County council. There is no second exam held by the school but you must fill up the secondary form that the school requires (especially if the child already has a sibling at the school).
Admission Criteria
All students should apply to the Kent County council to register for the Exam. Note that you should be paying council tax to the Dartford Borough or a Kent County Council to be eligible to fill up the Kent County Council form. For example if you live in Joydens Wood which is within a few minutes walking distance to the schools dont be under the impression you are eligible automatically. There are quite a few houses in Summerhouse drive with a postcode of DA5. Such houses pay Council Tax to Bexley. If you are in such a postcode you will not be allowed by the Kent County council to fill in the application form on their website. You will have to apply for the Bexley Grammar schools. Amazing Sports Facilities
The Wilmington Grammar schools has tens of acres of lands that have been set aside for sports. So you can rest assured that your child gets plenty of opportunities. In addition to the outdoor facilities there are plenty of indoor facilities as well. If your child is interested in sports then you must pay a visit to this school on the Open day.
